Dubs at the Beach
Last weekend we made the trip down to Ocean City, MD for DATB. This is the second year for the show, which replaced Dubs on the Lake out in Western, MD as one of the more fun, relaxed shows of the early season. It’s held at the same place H20 is held in September. The show itself is smaller, and Ocean City has a much different feel than the later show. We left on Friday and got down there midday. The weather was great and we bombed around town and found a place to eat, hung out and generally dubbed super hard.
Saturday was the BBQ day, no real show field, but vendors can set up and it’s pretty quiet. That evening we ate at a pretty good crab place, I think it was called the Crab Bag or something. Dave got the all you can eat crabs and got his money’s worth. Dude was eating crabs like an assembly line, it was impressive. Just a blur of arms, mallets, guts and Old Bay.
After dinner we went back to the room to digest for a bit and caught some of the NBA playoffs. Mission: Dessert began shortly after, and included several stops at various ice cream and candy joints. Then we dubbed again, possibly harder than before.
Sunday was the big show day, and the weather early in the day was ominous. Cloudy, windy and rainy. Attendance was low early on, but as the weather began to break people flocked to the show in droves. All in all it was a fun, laid back weekend. Good to see pals and hang out at the beach with great weather.
Our resident photog for the weekend was Allen, check out his site, AREPAT Photography. I’ll let his pics do the rest of the talking, thanks Al.
