Yesterday we released a new design, available for PreOrder on the site as we speak.  If you're familiar with 70's motorsport, then you're no stranger to Group 5 cars.  Huge wings, wide flares and big turbos - the Porsche 935 is the most recognizable (and most successful) Group 5 car of all-time.  One of the "little guys" that often slips through the cracks is the BMW 2002 Turbo, which ran in Division 2 during the 1977 German Touring Car Champsionship, or DRM (Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft). 

Klaud Ludwig, who was an extremely accomplished driver in his time, piloted the #6 AC Schnitzer car throughout the '77 campaign.  By this point in time, BMW had rolled out the newer 320 Turbos, so the writing was on the wall for the 2002s.  They fought valiantly, winning their class in round #4 at Kassel-Calden (#7 car, driven by Peter Hennige) and finishing out the season with another class victory at the Nurburgring (#6, Ludwig). 

Being a semi-obscure footnote in the rich history of BMW Motorsport (and also looking so damn cool) made this a fun one to research and design.  I hope you guys enjoy the finished product as much as I enjoyed making it!
