Monday Evening Video
I was messing around online doing my usual rounds and ended up getting sucked into the black hole which is YouTube. So addicting.
I found a couple threads with links to vids of a pretty rare E30, the 320is. This was a model only made available in Italy and Portugal because they couldnt affordably import the M3, due to steep taxes on cars over 2 liters in displacement. It’s basically a standard E30 iS car with a de-bored 2L S14 motor from the M3. These cars were super rare. Lightweight, well-balanced, with just about everything that made the M3 great, but with even more exclusivity. It’s odd BMW felt these small markets were important enough to create and totally unique model, but I’m glad they did.
You can read a bit more about them here.
I chose this video out the pack for a couple reasons:
1) It has Megadeth at the beginning and end.
2) Apparently this car is spec’d with cams and a carbon airbox and sounds unbelievably good.
3) The Accelerometer and Lateral G Force charts are sweet.
4) It’s the Nurburgring.
Enjoy!
