    8380 Tuning!

Some of you may have been wondering what that logo on the bottom right of our redesigned landing page meant...

...Well, we're really excited to announce a new direction for 8380 in 2011. We've branched out into the tuning market and our first offering is a new Mk5 Coilover kit that will be available starting next month!

We know one of the issues with many of the more affordable Mk5 coilover setups is that they don't go low enough, and at their lowest, the ride leaves a bit to be desired. These coilovers will help ease that pain a bit. We've had a couple sets installed on test cars for the better part of a year and they've passed the test of daily driving at their max adjustment with flying colors. Possibly better than the undersides of the test vehicles.

We're in the final stages of having the kits ready for sale (see below), with a release date of early February. Final pricing hasn't been nailed down yet but we'll share that as soon as we've got it figured.

Can't be sellin no nekkid coilovers!

New Design - Harlequin One of One

I was contacted by a Harlequin owner about 6 weeks ago who wanted to know if we could do a Harle design for their oft-ignored Mk3 niche.  We kicked some ideas around as a group and shortly after I set to work.  I really love automotive asterisks like the Harelquin, they are an interesting part of a manufacturer's history and often represent a specific period in time really well, like a rolling time capsule.

One of 8380's goals is to select noteworthy cars like these to highlight in our designs, and to showcase what it is that makes these cars so interesting and cool. For the One of One design I wanted to include something that paid homage the rarity of the cars. The problem is there is no hard and fast "official" number, so incorporating 1 of 264 could be controversial. The name is a play on the rarity and VW owners' individuality; regardless of having the same colorway as someone else, everyone makes their cars their own. One of One.

The design is currently available for PreOrder through January 26th, and will ship the week of February 14th.
